Dear
Parents & Students,
Welcome to The Dance
Extension! It is wonderful to see so many
new faces at the studio, and as always,
we're delighted to have our former students
return for another year of dance! We are
excited to welcome three new faculty
members, Michele Drexler, Khadija Griffith
and Lauren Rader, to our staff.
Preparations for our
biennial performance are well underway. Read
ahead for important dates and details!
Please check in regularly with the desk
staff when you're at the studio for class.
They're always available to answer your
questions!

All students are
welcome and encouraged to perform,
however, participation is voluntary!
Costume
Measurements: Measurements
will be taken October 8th - 20th by the desk
staff. Be sure your child is measured!
Costume
Sizes: Sizes
are generated by our computer and will be at
the desk starting Monday, October
22nd. Parents/students must approve all
costume sizes on or before Saturday,
November 3rd. Remember to allow
for 8 months of growth when considering your
costume size. To change the
computer generated size, see the desk staff. Please
note, extra
small and extra large sized costumes can
not be exchanged for alternate sizes and are
more expensive.
Costume
Deposits: We accept voluntary
deposits through Saturday, November 17th.

Payments: Mark your calendar!
Payments are due on Saturday, December
1st.
Matinee
Theme: Our theme is the
movies & Academy Awards! Look for
dances inspired by unforgettable
performances or award winning movies.

The Community
Dance Ensemble (CDE) is proud to
announce the dancers selected for the
2007-2008 performing company. Junior
Company dancers are Natalie
Anderson, Kai Chattar-Sinclair, Mark
Crawford, Julia Engel, Sarah Ferraro,
Christina Gardner, Lauren Hunt, Sarah Hysong,
Morgan Lynch, Frankie Marcille, Leah Minton,
Rebecca Morrell, Rebekah Patton, Aleisha
Roberts & Julia Scott Teen
Company dancers are Margaux Blank,
Melissa Buriak, Ashley Days, Angela DeJong,
Karen Hamilton, Megan Kane, Madeline Mador,
Jasmine McDowell, Amanda Mehlman, Emily
Minton, Denielle Prescott, Catherine Rucci,
Michele Saums, Allison Socha, Alyssa Susi,
Janelle Timmons & Alexandra Ulkus.
The CDE traveled
to Orlando, Florida last August to
participate in the Disney Magic Music Days
Program at Walt Disney World Resort. The
dancers participated in a "Disney
Dancin" performance skills workshop
with a Disney dancer at a rehearsal hall in
Epcot. They were thrilled to perform at the
Galaxy Palace Theatre in the Magic
Kingdom. The week ended with a celebration
dinner at Alfredo's Restaurant in Italy and
Illuminations Fireworks at Epcot.
Harlequin
Dance Scholarship: The Dance
Extension nominated Melissa Buriak,
Megan Kane & Michele Saums for
the annual American Harlequin Dance
Scholarship. The American Harlequin
Corporation, a dance flooring company, will
award a total of $25,000 to young dancers
nominated nationally by dance teachers.
Winners are selected through a random
drawing.
