The Community Dance Ensemble is a non-profit concert company of students who perform throughout New England for charitable and community organizations such as Muscular Dystrophy, nursing homes, and senior citizen centers. CDE members are selected by audition starting at the age of ten. In addition to technique classes in ballet, modern, tap and jazz, members attend repertory rehearsals conducted by professional dancers, teachers and guest artists. Their dance training is enhanced by trips to conventions, master classes and professional concerts. The CDE has participated in the Magic Music Days program at Walt Disney World® Resort; the Rockette Experience at Radio City Music Hall, the Tremaine Dance Convention and the Balanchine Bicentennial Celebration at Lincoln Center, NYC. They have also performed at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando, FL and Hershey Park in Pennsylvania.
